Advisory Support for Hainault Hub Design Group Stage 1 Expression of Interest Form
Thank you for considering an application to support Hainault Hub Design Group as a voluntary advisor.
The Hainault Hub Design Group is a local body of residents who have expressed an interest in working closely with the London Borough of Redbridge on the delivery of a local community hub scheme that will serve the residents of Hainault and Fairlop. This group will be independently selected by the Sortition Foundation.
The purpose of the Design Group is to work with Architects in Practice, who were appointed through a joint panel of residents and council officers, alongside Redbridge Council and Hainault Forest Community Association, to develop a set of 'design principles' which will shape the development of future plans for the Hainault Hub scheme. Between October 2022 and January 2023, the group will focus on the Hainault Hub site as a whole, through two in-person workshops to be held on Sunday 30th October from 2-4.30pm and Monday 16th January from 6-8pm, and five online workshops to be held from 6-8pm on Monday 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th November, and Monday 12th December.
Individuals from the business, charity, education and faith sectors, as well as representatives from political parties are being asked to support the Design Group in an advisory capacity, by:
- Attending and participating in online and in-person workshops in a supportive capacity (individuals will be randomly allocated to groups)
- Highlighting areas or considerations which could strengthen and improve the workshops and the process
- Engaging with and representing the views of those in the sector you are representing (if applicable)
We aim to have between 5 and 10 individuals acting in an advisory capacity, the selection of whom will be led by Mutual Gain, who have been working on the Community Hubs programme since 2019. In the event that we have more applicants than places, MutualGain will randomly select representatives from the above categories to ensure a balanced group of voluntary advisors.
