We want to work with the community to develop ideas that will ensure our high streets can adapt and serve our local residents in a variety of ways.
We want you to share your thoughts and ideas on how to support our high streets and shopping areas or projects you have already started or are involved in across the borough. We are keen to hear your views about cost-effective, high impact changes that will create welcoming, safe and attractive high streets, improving the shopping experience for all.
Your ideas will provide a way for us to see what people want to happen in their high street – and to incorporate those into our future plans. We are keen to work with you to improve our high street and will consider all the responses we receive.

More appealing Barkingside high st
Barkingside High street is slowly dying and looking dated! especially the top end needs a more revamped/ facelift for leisure centre, facelift for Library, more open & usable public spaces with pavement etc upgraded to make it more welcoming & attract more business. It appears this area lacks funding for a long time comparatively to main Ilford town!!

Not so many coffee shops and betting shops please. Keep variety on our high street. We are losing banks and post offices which are essential

Suggestions for the type of shops you would like to see in your high street?
We need to see more variety in our high streets to encourage people to use them more. There are only so many chicken/kebab takeaways, bookmakers, nail bars, hair dressers and coffee shops we need. List your suggestions here to give LBR a steer on how to make our high streets successful again.
