Introduction
Our Future Fairlop is an exciting initiative to shape the future of Fairlop Waters, one of the largest country parks in Redbridge, and home to expansive green space, a lake and a wide range of outdoor activities, including bouldering and high ropes.
During the next phase of the programme, we will bring together a randomly selected group of residents who are representative of the borough of Redbridge, alongside local groups and the council, in addition to online and in-person engagement in line with government guidance.
The next stage of activity will develop a Vision for Fairlop Waters over the course of five online workshops on Monday evenings from 5.30 to 7.30pm on May 24th, June 7th, June 21st, July 5th and July 19th, plus preparation and any follow-up activity. This vision will form the basis of a masterplan for the park.
Representatives from local groups have an important part to play in Our Future Fairlop, providing key information and supporting the process in an advisory capacity. Individuals who are part of an established local group and would like to participate in the process are invited to apply to support this stage by:
- Attending and participating in online workshops in a supportive capacity
- Highlighting areas or considerations which could strengthen and improve the process
- In the case of individuals representing business, charity, education or faith sectors, sharing information with sector partners and representing their views
We aim to select between 6 and 12 individuals to act in an advisory capacity. The selection will be led by the London Borough of Redbridge. In the event that we have more applicants than places, we will select representatives from the above underlined categories with a maximum of 2 places per category.
If you are interested in applying for a place please complete the short application form below by Monday 3rd May 2021. Further information on the wider project can be seen here.

During the next phase of the programme, the Council will be commissioning consultants to produce a masterplan that will guide future growth and development of the park, as well as attracting investment.
We aim to select up to 3 community members to act in an advisory capacity to support the council to appoint a masterplan consultant. We will select participants on the basis of experience, perspectives and diversity across the group.
Participation will involve participating in a panel interview, as well as undertaking preliminary reading, preparation and discussion. It is likely that it will require 1-2 days of your time.
If you would like to apply, please complete the short application form below by 14th May 2021.

As part of our engagement, we've been considering how those of you who contributed and those that may have missed out taking part, can continue to be involved beyond our initial engagement as a future vision is created over the next couple of years.
It is imperative that any future vision for the park is created alongside the people who use, visit and appreciate it. We believe that Fairlop Waters should be reflective of the community it represents and must welcome and value the diverse voices, talents and contributions of community members in order to be truly inclusive. This means that our engagement with people in the community must extend beyond now and into the future, as a vision is created and changes are made. It is for these reasons that we have created this online survey which will stay online until 7th January 2021. We hope that through hearing your thoughts we can continue to work with people throughout the evolution of Fairlop Waters in the most meaningful and sustainable way.
